Christmas Cake Competition 2008

The students of Youthreach Kiltimagh, who are partaking in Hotel, Catering and Tourism; and Home Economics for the academic year 2008/2009, decided that it would be a good idea to get involved in a Christmas Cake Competition, which ran from mid November until Christmas, for Junior Certificate, L.C.A. 1 and L.C.A. 2 students. All three classes of students learnt valuable lessons and really enjoyed their experience in this area. It really is a skill they can use for life not solely for Christmas but for Birthdays and other special occasions. All the students who took part have designed their own cake from the size to the shape and colours from conception to completion. The cakes will be judged by a chef from Ballina, Co. Mayo and awards will be given at the Christmas dinner.
